About Cornwall Cornwall (Cornish: Kernow) is a Duchy bordering the extreme south-west of England on the peninsula that lies to the west of the River Tamar. There has been a revival of the Cornish language and as one of the six Celtic nations there has been some debate over the constitutional status of Cornwall. The administrative centre and only city is Truro.
